Leatherman advertises this multitool as an extra-large multitool, and it is definitely not a small tool. The Surge Multitool comes with 2 knife blades. A serrated blade and a straight edge blade. This multitool has a blade exchanger so you can easily swap out blades. The knife blades, blade exchanger and the scissors are all outside-accessible, so they can be accessed without opening the multitool. The scissors are sharp and they are big enough to use effectively which is unlike most multitool scissors. These are actually the best multitool scissors that I have ever used. The pliers are big and strong. You can really grip anything with these pliers. The Surge comes with wire cutters, hard-wire cutters and stranded wire cutters. The wire cutters are good, but I expected more cutting power or leverage in such a big heavy-duty multitool. The surge has a large flat head screwdriver which is strong. It also has a large bit driver and a small bit driver and this multitool comes with 2 double-ended bits, giving you 4 more screwdrivers. There is also a Phillips and Flat head eyeglass screwdriver which may only be helpful once in a while. The Surge Multitool opens easily with one hand and is very comfortable to hold and use. It is heavy, so using it for an extended period of time will probably be somewhat tiring. It comes with a leather sheath which is nothing to write home about. It has a snap instead of Velcro which is kind of a pain to snap and unsnap with one hand. The Black Oxide Surge Multitool has many tools, so no matter what you need a multitool for, this is a great all around multitool which can take a beating.
