The Leatherman Super Tool 300 Multitool is a beefed up version of the Super Tool 200 by Leatherman. They made the plier head stronger, and it now has replaceable wire cutter blades. The saw is wider which makes it stronger and the Phillips screwdriver has a thicker shank which adds strength. All 3 Flathead screwdrivers are bigger and have a nicer bevel at the tip. This multitool is beefy and feels very solid when using it. Leatherman made the cutaway on the knife blade bigger which makes it much easier to open either knife even with utility gloves on. It’s like they took the 200 and made the little tweaks it needed to make it really awesome. The Super Tool 300 Multitool has 19 tools. Two sets of pliers, needlenose and regular, 2 knives, Serrated and clip-point straight edge, 3 sets of wire cutters, standard wire cutters (removable), hard wire cutters (removable) and stranded wire cutters, 4 screwdrivers, Phillips head, 5/16 inch, 1/8 inch and 7/32 inch flat head screwdrivers, A wire stripper built-in to the side of the multitool which is way better than when it is built-in to the plier head, a wire crimper, a bottle opener, can opener, a ruler (which expands to 9 inches), a metal/wood file, a separate saw (so you don’t have to ruin your serrated knife blade), and an awl with thread loop.

This multitool does not have scissors which I don’t have a problem with, but if having scissors in your multitool is important then this is not the multitool for you. This multitool is pretty compact when closed at 4.5 inches and although it’s not light, it only weighs in at 9.6 ounces which seems light for how nice and heavy-duty this multitool is. The handles are made of stainless steel and are slightly curved making it nice to grip and use. The serrated knife and clip point knife are both made from 420HC steel which makes it durable and can be sharpened rather easily. Although they advertise this as a great multitool for an outdoorsman, I believe this multitool is better suited for a contractor. This multitool has to be one of the best multitools for a contractor. It’s just solid, very well designed, comfortable to use and has a lot of functionality. One thing to consider is using something like thread locker after you reinstall the Torx screw when replacing a blade.
The Leatherman 831102 Super Tool 300 Multitool comes with a nylon and leather sheath. It does the job well enough. I’m not a huge fan of sheaths for my multitool and at 4.5 inches closed I don’t mind keeping this one in my pocket.
