The Leatherman Crunch line of Multitools has a nice range of tools like most leatherman multitools, but the one tool that sets this apart from other multitools is the Vice Grips. If you deal with tight or rusty bolts that don’t respond well to normal multitool pliers, then you should consider the Leatherman crunch. The Crunch is actually very compact at 4 inches when closed, and only weighs 6 ounces, so it will fit in your pocket easily for an everyday carry multitool. The mechanism of the vice grip pivot joint looks a little flimsy but it is anything but flimsy. It really has held up strongly under some stressful use. This multitool comes with plenty of other tools like wire cutters, hard wire cutters which will cut 12-14ga fencing without damaging the blade at all. It also comes with a semi serrated knife blade. I prefer a separate serrated blade but the knife does a good job, especially the serrated edge. It comes with a wood/metal file which is sort of flexible so I don’t recommend using it to pry anything with any sort of force.

The Crunch also has a ruler, bottle opener, wire strippers and a lanyard attachment. The vice grip pliers lock in to position and all the interior blades lock as well for safety reasons. The Leatherman Crunch multitool is made from 100% high grade stainless steel and should be lightly oiled to maintain it. This is a great multitool but you probably would consider getting the Crunch if you need the Vice Grips tool over a normal pair of pliers that come on other multitools if you are in need of vice grip strength over normal plier strength. That is the one outstanding feature of this multitool.
